HEPATITIS C IN EGYPT GRANT APPLICANTS CLICK HERE

The Small Grants Program provides seed funding for novel research projects investigating viral hepatitis in Egypt. Annually, SSI issues a request for proposal (RFP) for grant applications from Egyptians and among these the top five to six proposals are funded.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Education level: Egyptian scientists conducting research in a field related to hepatitis C or viral hepatitis. (i.e. PhD, ScD, Masters candidates and Post-doctorates)

  • Areas of Study: Candidates must be proposing work in the area of hepatitis C or viral hepatitis. See below for examples of research topics that SSI would be interested in funding. Please note that this is not a comprehensive list and it does not mean that SSI is only interested in these topics.

  • Academic Status: Candidates must be in good academic standing within their degree program.

  • Institutional Affiliation: Applications from all Egyptian institutions are welcome. Applicants that are receiving US funding or are affiliated with a US organization are not eligible.

Suggested Research Topics

  • Fatty liver disease and metabolic liver disease topics
  • Viral hepatitis infection control disease topics
  • Hepatoma topics
  • Health outcome/intervention related projects in liver disease in Egypt

Size and Number of Awards

$5,000-$10,000 (US dollars) will be allocated per grantee. Generally 5 to 6 awards are granted per year.
